PriceSmart to open sixth membership warehouse club in Costa Rica
PriceSmart, which owns and operates US-style membership shopping warehouse clubs in Latin America and the Caribbean, plans to construct its sixth membership warehouse club in Costa Rica.
The San-Diego-based firm PriceSmart has recently entered into an agreement to acquire 172633ft² property in La Union, Cartago, Costa Rica for the sixth warehouse club.
The transaction is expected to close in 2012 and the Cartago Club is expected to open in the summer 2013.
PriceSmart currently operates 29 warehouse clubs in 12 countries and one US territory (five in Costa Rica, four each in Panama and Trinidad, three each in Guatemala and the Dominican Republic, two each in El Salvador and Honduras, and one each in Aruba, Barbados, Colombia, Jamaica, Nicaragua and the US Virgin Islands).
