Metro opens online store in Romania
Metro Cash & Carry, a Germany-based supermarket chain, has recently opened an online store in Romania.
The new online store, Metro Office Direct (www.metro.ro/direct), offers over 4,500 products for office, furniture, electronics, IT, home appliances and cleaning products.
Neurope.eu quoted Metro Cash & Carry Romania Clients Management director Marc Carena as saying that the market in Romania needed such a service and the company is sure this initiative will prove successful.
Metro Group reportedly invested over EUR1.1bn ($1.45bn) in Romania and has over 14,000 employees in the country.
Metro Cash & Carry, a division of Metro Group, operates around 700 stores in over 30 countries. It has 32 stores in 24 Romanian cities. The firm has over 100,000 employees.
